The supply and demand zone lifecycle.

After formation, a zone can remain fresh, move closer to price, be tested, weaken through repeated interaction, or become invalid. TickerMantis follows those changes so the map reflects current evidence rather than frozen history.

The four stages users need to recognize

The exact calculations stay inside the engine, but the visible lifecycle is straightforward.

Created

A qualifying zone is confirmed

The zone is added to the map after its formation is confirmed. The planned Pro product adds an alert for this moment.

Approaching

Price moves toward entry

Distance % shrinks as current price nears the zone’s entry edge. You choose the percentage that deserves an alert.

Tested or invalid

Price interacts with the area

Contact changes freshness. If the zone later meets the engine’s invalidation condition, it no longer belongs on the active map.

The two alerts that run the workflow

Alerts are most useful when they reduce chart watching. TickerMantis focuses the routine on a structural event and a proximity event.

Quick knowledge check

Is “approaching” the same as touching?
No. Approaching means price is within the percentage distance you selected; contact is a later interaction with the zone.

Why not keep reopening every shortlisted chart?
The approach alert lets the chart remain out of your attention until price is close enough to justify another review.
